The Peninsula men last week relinquished an ideal opportunity to regain their advantage over local rivals Abbey Villa at the top of the pile, losing 2-1 away to Malachians. But on Saturday, Galbraith's troops showed the one quality that any manager chasing league honours demands from his team - the ability to win without playing well. Not that the Ards Rangers manager, right, has ever stated that any belief that the target of the league title is an attainable one this season. If anything, he is trying to play down his team's chances. He said: "I am trying to take the pressure off my players. Being top brings its own pressures and last week showed me what can happen in that situation. "I still don't think we looked ourselves on Saturday. We did enough to get three points against Drumaness, but playing against other teams we might not have been so fortunate - and that is no respect to Drumaness, who I know were without a few key players. "It was one of our worst performances of the season... but it was still a big win for our own belief and confidence." Despite his criticism of his catalog printing team's overall display, Galbraith did manage to pick out one major positive from the afternoon - the performance from Ryan Newberry. The management team are hoping that one of their most vital players has found yet another level to his game, after a few words in his ear in training. Cartier Replica Watches Galbraith beamed: "At times it was the Ryan Newberry Show. He hit the bar twice from 25 and 30 yards, and the one he scored from 25 yards out was unbelievable. "That was only his third goal of the season! The thing with him has been that he would beat five or six players, then look for the perfect pass - but we told him to shoot on sight when he gets the chance and on Saturday, thankfully, he did." And the Ards Rangers boss did his bit to deflect pressure from his players by pouring cold water on the suggestion that his team are among t h e real contenders for the league at the moment. He added: "People still forget where we have come from. Abbey Villa finished 15 points ahead of us in Division 1A - they should be the team better equipped to challenge for the title. "This is entirely new to us. I think there are two players in the squad who have ever won anything in their life. "It is difficult to say we have done or achieved anything - we haven't. But whatever happens now, it will be a great first season for us back in the Premier Section. Ards Rangers were the only team to take all three points in the Premier on Saturday, with all but two other matches in the division called off due to waterlogged pitches - these games finished Islandmagee 2 Killyleagh 2 and Wellington Rec 1 Hollywood Rec 1. It was a similar story in Division 1A, with only three matches going ahead. The scores were Nortel 4 Grove United 1, Rathfern Rangers 1 East Belfast 2, Sirocco Works 2 Kilmore Rec 7.
